21 patients with idiopathic sudden hearing loss were treated since 1986 in the Otorhinolaryngology Clinic, Univercity of Ioannina.
A regiment that included dextran – Buphlomedil Hydrochloride – prednizolone and a vitamin complex in I.U administration was tested.
Complete or significantly good recovery was seen in 57% of patients who received the regiment.
In this study, we point out how much simple, feasible, effective and in general use, the regiment is, in comparison with those reported currently. We also analyze several factors affecting the probability of recovery.
